Foundation for Change works with people affected by substance misuse. A main aim of the organisation is supporting our service-users to integrate and engage in society from a fresh perspective, achieved through education. We aim for individuals to feel more informed, less helpless, and better empowered in their lives as opposed to being dependent on intervention from treatment services.

We have provided regular educational talks for people in their Third Age in St Albans and its surrounding locality and also facilitated their continued learning through interest groups. Our PTFA runs regular events such as school discos, Christmas & Summer Fairs, duck race in the village and events such as a race night in order to raise funds to support the school. The charity is based at the Primary school but on some occasions local venues such as the community centre are used to hold events.

To raise funds for and promote a sense of community within Worsley Bridge Primary School.

To provide a Winter Shelter for the homeless in Maidstone. This includes a hot meal and a social evening provided by a host of volunteers; a bed for the night and breakfast in the morning. During their stay, the Guest can obtain advice and help to find permanent housing, making contact with family members and assistance with other inter agency facilities.

Following our highly successful production of Aida in Heathfield, East Sussex in October 2015, we are currently considering our options and plans for another production. Additionally, our charitable objects have now been extended to allow us to support music more widely (not just opera) and to provide grants to aspiring musicians.

The Charity exists to help students at state comprehensives in northern England access leading universities, where they are currently very under-represented.
