The British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies promotes the study of all aspects of eighteenth-century cultural history. The principal activity is the relief of persons suffering from Alzheimer's disease, related disorders and other forms of dementia by providing support or subsidising facilities for the care and accommodation of such persons. At present, the Charity is principally engaged in running Vale House, a specialist dementia care facility based in Littlemore, Oxford .

Havencare provides homes and support to people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and people with other cognitive differences including acquired brain injuries. Here in Cornwall we follow the Girlguiding scheme which provides a balanced programme of activities enabling girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference to the world.

Padstow Sea Cadets [MSSC]is a uniformed, disciplined youth movement open to young people aged 10-18 years regardless of sex, religion or race. Training uses a national theme based upon the customs of the Royal Navy and helps them towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and life skills. Training is given to develop various skills which lead to national certs.
