The Cerne Abbas Village Hall is the focus for the many and varied activities enjoyed by the local community. It provides a modern and well-equipped facility which is used by all local clubs and societies and for many indoor sporting and fitness activities. It is used by all sections of the community and is indispensible for the maintenance of a strong and active local community spirit.

The charity is in place to run and maintain the Lomas Hall which is a village hall left in trust to the people of Stannington in 1952 by Miss Flora Lomas. The Sisters of Notre Dame are a group of religious women whose main aim is to contribute to the advancement of Roman Catholic religion by involvement in education, broadly conceived. This they do by formation of the young, various voluntary ministries, and support for educational and catechetical programmes and institutions. They are committed to the care of their aged, sick and infirm sisters.

Puppet theatre for all ages, particularly children.
