Highfield Hall Community Centre - this is a community resource for leisure and educational pursuits, with group usage for art circle, karate, community events and gatherings for Table Tennis club, drama and choral groups, and childcare provision. Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, abseiling, cycling and canoeing while having fun. We meet weekly, catering for youngsters aged 6 to 18 supporting them with skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

All activities are based on the promotion of the Christian testimony through religious meetings and services that strengthen and uphold the spiritual needs of not only members but also the general public and thus mankind in its entirety. It plays an active part in support of all relevant humanitarian organisations.

The principle objects of the organisation are: to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the treatment, education, training, rehabilitation and welfare of persons who are physically or mentally disabled or elderly and to relieve them in case of need.

We are a Scout Group located at Annfield Plain and we operate in line with the Scout Associations Rules & Regulations providing activities for persons aged from 6 year old . Activities are educationally based the aim is to offer our young members the opportunity to develop spiritually, physically and mentally offering challenges otherwise not available.

Provide "Drop In" facilities for social interaction of older people. Premises in town centre provide tea/coffee and biscuits.

Age Concern Appleby & District have two shops in the town. both run entirely by volunteers. We have no paid staff what so ever and all money raised, after expenses, rates, rents etc is given to local charities and groups which help and care for older people in the Appleby District.
