TCS supports young people in northern Uganda who have been affected by exposure to armed conflict, in order to relieve poverty and mental distress and promote well-being. Little Badgers pre-school provides a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn through play. Our sessions help children to develop skills and confidence prior to starting Primary school and give pre-school aged children and their families and opportunity to have fun and make friends. All our sessions take place at Badger Hill Primary School, York.

We have 43 interest groups including art languages history music poetry and science. Physical activities include badminton, walking dancing and tai chi. The organisation is run entirely by U3A members and the committee of trustees meets monthly. We have a monthly general meetings with a speaker and monthly coffee drop ins. We also organise social events for members.

The promotion of chess for the public benefit in the Borough of Hastings and the management of Hastings & St Leonards Chess Club

Our aim is to promote the culture and heritage of our community whilst advancing any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community. We organise a series of community events in the second and third weeks of September each year around the Pewsey area targeted to provide something for all ages. Events include competitions, dances, races, talks and a Carnival first run in 1897.
