Provide opportunities for the general public to be actively involved in the environment & local history of Sholing Valleys. Activities include litter-picks, pond-dipping, animal/plant surveys, tree planting, slide shows & much more. We run a monthly Childrens Group at our Study Centre & encourage Group visits. Organising popular fund-raising events we also work closely with similar groups.

We consider grant applications from UK-based students of any nationality who are: a) graduates with a 1st or 2.1 Bachelor's degree with honours, or a higher degree; b) studying for a degree in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine taken as a second degree, or for a higher degree or postgraduate certificate or diploma in any subject; c) already resident in the UK when applying.

TWSMRT operates 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. We provide a mountain, search and rescue service for the whole of County Durham, from the high fells in the west to the coastal communities of the North Sea. Falklands Conservation protects the wildlife of the Falkland Islands which is its area of operation.
