We have an entertainments license, but no alcohol licence. We hold a joint PPL/PRS licence.

The aim is to promote the development of young people in acheiving their physical, intellectual and social potential as indivduals and responsible citizens in a safe environment. In order to acheive this the Unit takes young people from all backgrounds, including where possible those with disabilities and develops their skills.

Training through games and activities for young people from the age of 6 years to 14 years

The 1st Nazeing Scout Group, which can be traced back to before the 2nd World War, joined together with Nazeing Girl Guiding sections during the 1970+?+?+?s to form the 1st Nazeing Scout and Guide Group. The Group is affiliated to both The Scout Association and Girl Guide Association.The groups have activities in the hut and field trips including camps visits to other groups

Young people between the core ages of 6 to 14 meet in their sections weekly where they enjoy learning through a variety of methods, including games, practical experiences and visits. In addition there is a full programme of outdoor experiences from cooking on open fires through sleepovers, weekend and full week camps either in accommodation or under canvas on official sites or green fields.

The charity aims to continuously update and improve facilities at Burroughes Hall in order to meet health, safety and access requirements. The hall is regularly decorated to encourage individuals, groups and other charities to use the facility. To do this the committee organises fundraising events throughout the year and obtains grants.

The Garraway Club provides social and sporting facilities for young people and adults, and in particular fosters interests in the martial arts.

To make grants to daughters or grand-daughters of old girls of Sherborne School for girls to assist with school fees in the case of financial need.

Awards small financial grants to students seeking assistance with their Higher Education. Awards are made annually in September.

The Charity supports the running of the School primarily through the maintenance and improvement of the fabric and buildings, grounds and infrastructure, with a second object to support general School life
