Conservation and environmental activities

The Earth and Space Foundation seeks to advance the links between environmentalism and space settlement. It awards grants each year to fieldwork and research that accomplishes this goal. This includes work that uses space technology to solve environmental problems or uses Earth environments to enhance space exploration and settlement. It awards approximately five grants each year.

The Charity has worked with an affiliated Education Trust to make available the listed NAAFI building and grounds, within the Kenley Conservation area, for a fully operational school .

BEN is established to promote full ethnic participation in the built and natural environment. BEN works to integrate social, cultural and environmental concerns in the context of sustainable development. We work across diverse sectors. Our current themes integrate the areas of natural environment, the built environment, heritage, social justice, health and housing.

The charity holds fund raising events throughout the year in order to provide the children of the school with facilities/outings etc for fun & entertainment that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to do otherwise, given the deprivation and poor facilities in the local environment meeting needs of children that education authorities cannot provide for as outside of the responsibility of

The Charity seeks to secure donations, legacies, and sponsorship to enhance the care and treatment available to patients at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Through the provision of grants they support projects which improve patient care and the hospital environment, medical equipment, health education, staff development and welfare, and that fall outside of the remit of the NHS.

To treat injured hedgehogs and wherever possible release them back into the wild. To care for those hedgehogs that cannot be released.To educate both children and adults about hedgehogs and their environment.

Grants are made towards repairs and conservation of Lastingham Church, together with purchases to enhance its facilities. Activities include general education about its history and activities. Fund-raising events included the traditional Lastingham Lecture and other lectures, garden parties and concerts.

We are a small youth group primarily operating in Weare Giffard but open to children in the surrounding areas. Our primary aim is to provide a safe and relaxed environment for the local youth to meet and socialise with their friends in a rurally isolated village. Belmont United Youth Football Club, provides sporting facilities, training and coaching sessions run by a team of FA accredited volunteers, sourced within the local community. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe environment for children to learn, grow and develop, on and off the field.

Operation Eyesight is an international development organization working to prevent blindness and restore sight.
