Raising awareness of heart illness in Children

Haswell & District Mencap operate from a purpose built building in the heart of the community. Our main target group are people with a learning disability, their carers and the wider community. Our services and activities include daycare, sport and social groups, carer support, advocacy, a catering and a furniture social enterprise. We are also a Gateway Beacon Club and have Gateway Active Status.

We are a very small charity with a big heart. We see the positive in every child & strive to make their life in school an enjoyable one. We fundraise to support student activities, residential trips, the school prom & to finance outings and gifts at Easter and Christmas. We also purchase all our new starters a school sweatshirt or bag.

The main activities included the running of the health centre and the mobile cardiac clinic. The funding and donation of new digital facilities for four schools in the villages of Bassam, Cocody and Bingerville. This equipment provides digitally interactive classrooms for the local children, with computers, interactive whiteboards, internet connection and digital training for local teachers.

To promote and protect the physical and mental health of people who have had strokes and their family and carers in the London borough of Newham through the provision of support, education, practical advice and facilities for recreation

Jael Christian Women is an independent Christian organisation for all women of any other denomination, faith or background. Inviting all who share a passion or interest to get involved. Our aims include the help and support to the Abused, Oppressed, and the Poor. Also for those whom have not experienced the Agape Love and continuing renewal of heart, mind and life through our saviour Jesus.

CREW offers walking programmes mainly for anyone at risk from cardiovascular disease but also for people with other medical conditions and social needs. CREW promotes exercise classes run by fully qualified, self-employed British Association for Cardiac Rehabilitation (BACR) or Cardiac Phase 4 rehab instructors. CREW provides defibrillators for both walks and exercise classes.

Mercy Foundation Trust is a UK based charity that promotes General Health and well being through Free health promotion Seminars and Workshops aimed at preventing diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, thereby reducing the incidence of strokes and heart attacks. Most of our volunteers are healthcare professionals who would give free professional advice at the workshops.

Since those are usually large expenses, something that even the well balanced, financial-organised person will struggle with. Women's Heartbeat's activities focus on our three main objectives: 1) raising awareness of women's heart disease and the importance of early diagnosis; 2) providing improved access to information, education, guidance for both patients and medical professionals; 3) promoting and supporting research into heart disease in women and its treatment.

We raise money to support the educational experience of pupils and build a sense of community around the school in the heart of Stroud. We actively try to increase parental engagement aiming to positively impacting educational and attainment. Based out of Topolski's original studio, we host an archive, curate exhibitions, and lead educational programmes and workshops with Topolski's principles of artistic reportage, public artwork, tolerance and curiosity at heart. We are a charity run playgroup that offers 2.5 hr playgroup sessions for children from 2yrs, plus wrap around care Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5.30 pm.We offer Early Entitlment places and also accept the 30 free childcare offer via Flintshire County Council.We are located in the Heart of Mynydd Isa Village community, and located in the Community centre.

The principal purpose of the church is the advancement of the Christian faith according to the principles of the Baptist denomination. We are a lively pro active networking Church with a heart and mission to alleviate social isolation, especially reaching out to older residents, those living in the local rural area, including our neighbouring villages.

As a registered charity we help families with children with cardiac heart defects. we help families financially by helping them with their house hold bills, shopping ect. while their in hospital with their child/children, we also visit hospitals throughout the year bringing gifts to the children, parents and nurses.

Supports clinical research projects into the early diagnosis and prevention of heart disease and stroke through the use of non-invasive techniques

Provides care and support to people who have suffered a stroke and who are at various stages of rehabilitation. Light meals are provided together with entertainment in the form of quizzes , bingo etc. Members are invited to participate in craft activities and every week exercises are provided by a professional to maintain or enhance mobility.Outings are arranged

The charity provides minibus transport, complete with drivers, at low cost, along with their replacement, insurance, maintenance etc. 1) To Age Concern Shrops, Telford & Wrekin for their eight day centres in Shrewsbury. 2) To a large number of elderly groups, eg, church groups, MU, WI, stroke club, Shropshire Mind etc etc.

During the year we have been awarded the Queen's Award for volunteering and have completed the 'Green Hearts for the Environment' project.

Arley Stroke Club meets on Mondays from about 10am to 3pm. Our membership is drawn from residents of North Warwickshire, and surrounding areas who have suffered stroke.We provide gentle exercise and stimulation according to the needs of members along with friendship, companionship, and a break for their carers; also games and other activities including outings and when possible an annual holiday.

East Bergholt Heartwatch is a group of Community First Responders whose aim is to provide 24 hour emergency coverage within the communities of East Bergholt, Brantham and Holton St. Mary in Suffolk. Volunteers are trained in the use of portable Automated External Defibrillation equipment to attend medical emergencies in the community. The Group has provided wall-mounted AEDs within the community.

We Provide first response to members of the community and members of the public who call 999 with cardiac symtoms

We are mainly internet based - we attend several meetings and sit on several panels including the British Heart Foundation Patient advisory committee - we give several talks and presentations each year and attend several events to promote transplantation - We also attend several meetings with other organisations to represent heart transplantation and patients. The relief of sickness of persons residing in Cockermouth and surrounding villages, herein after to be called the area of benefit, in particular but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, by responding to suspected heart attack patients and assisting by means of advisory defibrillation.The advancement of education by training in the response to cardio vascular emergency.

Primarily the charity exists to improve access to education and services for people from minority ethnic backgrounds. It was operating from a building set in the heart of a deprived area with a high level of ethnic minority population, but is now seeking new premises. The charity works in partnership with other local agencies.We are currently not able to provide many activities due to no funding.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the public benefit in Peterston Super Ely by providing and maintaining a community multi use games area in the heart of the village and working to increase uptake of sports by the community.

The Healthy Living Hub aims to provide a friendly welcoming space in the heart of the city. The Hub is run by the Kingsway Wellbeing Project which Is a charity which was established in December 2018. The charity was set up with the aim to bring low cost health and wellbeing services for people living in Swansea.
